Which author’s should you read today?
Which author’s are the best?
My view is pretty biased,
but poets beat the rest.

Below are just a sample
of poets I have chosen
in other years, from Dahl to Lear;
and Blake to Michael Rosen.

I recommend John Hegley,
and Zephaniah too.
Rachel Rooney, Duffy.
The choice is up to you.

This book day I prescribe to you
